A woman and her son reportedly committed suicide at Majhphant in Kyamin VDC-2 of Tanahun district on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Rita Thapa (24) and her five-year-old son Misan Thapa.Family members of the deceased immediately informed police after they saw them hanging from the ceiling fan with the single nylon rope in their room.
Preparations are underway to take the bodies to the Damauli Hospital for postmortem, police said.Police said that they are looking into the case.
